Nurture Your Intellectual Well-being

Boost Your Study Skills

Review study materials within 24 hours of the class to keep them fresh in your mind. When you read, be fully present in the class, take notes, and pay extra attention to what’s written on the board.

Create study group sessions with your classmates

Study in an organized environment that won’t distract your focus. Using color coding can help make your memory more dynamic – try assigning a color theme to each topic. Explore innovative ways to study that work best for you.

Improve Time Management

Make a “To-Do” list that allows you to prioritize and cross off completed tasks effectively. Give priority to tasks based on their importance and tackle the most crucial ones first. Learn not to overcommit to social engagements – remember what’s essential to do. Reduce excessive workload during study time; money is important, but overworking can eat into your study hours. Practice Multitasking Within Your Limits.

Eliminate Procrastination

Understand that there is more than one way to approach tasks. Sometimes there isn’t a single “right” answer, but multiple new ideas, insights, expressions, and possibilities reside in an open mind. Be authentic and true to yourself.

Develop Critical Thinking Skills

Stay engaged in discussions, reading, and classroom interactions – think about what’s happening. Ask yourself or others questions that challenge your thoughts. Challenge the norm, don’t just accept answers without questioning them. Find examples and connections from your life experiences related to the subject matter. Keep Your Mind Active, Ponder, and Inquire.
